The China Milky Oolong is a special variety of oolong tea with a characteristic creamy-buttery aroma. Despite its milky-sweet taste, the tea naturally contains no milk – the typical milky note arises from a combination of varietal selection and gentle processing.

Creamy, velvety, full-bodied
Milky Oolong is one of the lightly oxidised oolong teas. The gentle processing preserves a bright, fresh aroma, complemented by a particularly rounded, creamy flavour component:
Aroma: creamy-buttery, with floral and sweetish notes
Cup colour: pale golden yellow with a delicate sheen
Taste: mild, full-bodied, with a velvety texture on the palate
Character: beginner-friendly – very accessible even for tea newcomers
ORIGIN & PROCESSING
Tradition from China
Our Milky Oolong comes from Chinese oolong-growing regions. The creamy note arises from the interplay of two factors:Varietal selection: certain tea-plant varieties naturally bring a gentle, creamy-buttery aroma component. These are traditionally cultivated in the highlands.Processing: the freshly picked leaves are carefully semi-fermented (low oxidation level), rolled and gently dried. Some Milky Oolongs additionally use a gentle flavouring with natural components to intensify the characteristic milky impression.
PREPARATION
How to achieve the perfect cup
Milky Oolong is relatively uncomplicated to prepare – the creamy note unfolds best at a medium water temperature.
📌 Recommended preparation
Water temperature: 85–90 °C (let the water cool for 1–2 min. after boiling)
Dosage: 1 tsp of Milky Oolong per 250 ml
Steeping time (1st infusion): 2–3 minutes
Multiple infusions: 3–4 infusions possible, extending the steeping time a little each time
Enjoy: strain and drink at leisure – plain, without milk or sugar

Airtight: tea caddy of metal or dark glass
Protected from light & dry: not in the refrigerator (condensation!)
