OP is a traditional leaf-grade designation for orthodox black tea. It refers to a classic leaf-tea style with longer, largely intact leaves and a clear infusion.
Store airtight in a cool, dry place protected from light and strong external odours.
Preparation
Hot brewing develops the tea's clear and classic Ceylon character.
Brew with freshly boiled water.
Approximately 2 g per cup.
Strain completely afterwards.
Clear and balanced.
Use one heaped teaspoon per 250 ml of water at 95–100°C, steep for 3–5 minutes and strain completely.
Lighter and more delicate.
For a milder cup, use slightly less tea or keep the steeping time closer to 3 minutes.
