What is a herbal tea blend?

Are herbal tea blends caffeine-free?
Yes, as a rule — real herbal tea blends contain no caffeine, because they use no leaves of the tea plant (Camellia sinensis). An exception are blends to which green tea, mate or guarana has explicitly been added — shown on the ingredients list.
How do you prepare a herbal tea blend?
Most herbal tea blends need boiling water (100 °C) and a longer steeping time of 6–10 minutes so the essential oils can fully develop. Use about 1–1.5 tsp per 250 ml of water. For pure peppermint or sage blends, 5 minutes is often enough.
What are Ayurveda herbal teas?
Ayurveda teas are traditional Indian herbal blends composed according to the three doshas Vata, Pitta and Kapha — typically with ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, liquorice and pepper. With us you will find all three dosha blends individually as well as the complete set.
What is Greek mountain tea?
Greek mountain tea (botanically Sideritis) grows in the mountains of Greece and has been enjoyed as a traditional infusion since antiquity. Its characteristic aroma is mild and floral with a slight citrus note. It is also traditionally served in blends with honey or lemon.
How long does a herbal tea blend keep?
Stored dry, protected from light and in an airtight tin, a loose herbal tea blend keeps for 18–24 months without losing aroma. Check the best-before date on the packaging. Since the essential oils in herbs are volatile, it is best to use them up within 12 months.
