ABOUT OUR ORGANIC MATCHA
Premium organic matcha from Japan — stone-ground & shade-grown
At DieTees you'll find premium organic matcha from certified cultivation in Japan. Our range covers two quality grades: the Bio Japan Matcha Daily for everyday enjoyment and the Bio Japan Matcha Ceremonial for the traditional tea ceremony. Both are stone-ground in organic mills and packed aroma-sealed in light-proof aluminium pouches.
Matcha is finely ground green tea from Japan — unlike classic tea, you don't drink the infusion but the entire tea leaf. The young tencha leaves are shaded for several weeks before harvest, which creates the characteristic sweet umami flavour and the vibrant green colour. A traditional stone mill grinds only about 30–40 g of matcha per hour — gently and preserving the full aroma.
Organic matcha naturally contains caffeine — around 30–70 mg per serving (1 g in 60–80 ml of water), depending on the quality grade and dosage. That places matcha in the range from green tea up to black tea.

QUALITY GRADES
What types of matcha are there?
Matcha can be broadly divided into two main categories — depending on harvest time and grind fineness. At DieTees you'll find both:
- Daily Matcha — regular harvest, finely ground, a little stronger in taste. Ideal for matcha latte, smoothies, baking and cold drinks.
- Ceremonial Matcha — first harvest (ichibancha), especially finely ground. Delicate, velvety, with a more elegant umami — perfect for the classic tea ceremony and for drinking matcha plain.
Looking for classic brewed tea from the same plant? Take a look at our green tea category with sencha, bancha and more. Other processing stages of Camellia sinensis can be found in the white tea category, the oolong category or under black tea.
